3 Boxing Day Mistakes

After a delicious lunch of leftovers made more impressive by the arrival of family friends and their extra food, I journeyed to Melbourne where I live in a share house. On this journey I made 3 unfortunate mistakes.

1. Left my boyfriend's family Christmas gift on the kitchen table. They might receive their new Christmas decorations in the new year, never a good look.

2. Took the train to Melbourne central. Melbourne Central on any other day is one of the greatest train stations, located within a massive shopping centre you are able to arrive at the shops door. It is also a hub for connecting trams. Unfortunately on Boxing Day, the shopping centre is packed full of aggressive, hot and impatient people trying to get the best bargains - despite receiving gifts yesterday.

3. I decided to go to the bathroom. Massive error. There were only 3 stalls in a cramped hot room, made worse by all 3 people breaking busy bathroom etiquette. Don't go number 2's when there is a queue. It's not only embarrassing for them, but frustrating for everyone who have already been waiting in queue for 5 minutes and are starting to get desperate.

On a more positive note, I learnt from these mistakes, continue to avoid Boxing Day sales and pay more attention when you leaves the house. Plus I didn't have to wait for a tram or train. Stepped out and bam. There it was. According to my boyfriend, that never happens.

Hope the people who did go out for Boxing Day sales had a successful trip!

Christmas 2013

Living in Australia has it's advantageous and disadvantages.
Most importantly, Christmas comes earlier for us than for many others - while I'm unwrapping presents and eating delicious food many people are going to bed excited for the following day.

Sadly, it also means that as I am going to bed after a wonderful day, my social media is full of friends still partying on - inviting me into their world that is so far.

Christmas 2013 was an overall success in my books. It is the first anniversary of my grandmothers passing, we managed to both celebrate and mourn but overall we had a cheerful day.

I was spoilt rotten - my parents gave me an iPad air that helped me pass level 197 on candy crush - something I had spent many hours on, hoping to pass. I also got some funky socks (pictured below)

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. All is a loose term because this is my first blog post so I have no followers. But maybe I'll get some - that case, hello to you. Merry Christmas.
